Christian Ordinances

Overview

This course provides an in-depth study of the Christian ordinances—specifically Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper—as instituted by Jesus Christ and practiced by the early church. Students will explore their biblical foundations, theological significance, historical development, and application in contemporary Christian life and worship. Emphasis is placed on understanding these ordinances not merely as rituals, but as sacred acts that express obedience, faith, and participation in the redemptive work of Christ. The course also examines various denominational views while affirming the ordinances as vital expressions of the believer’s covenant relationship with God and the community of faith.
